Scott is the latest Chiropractor to join team ChiroHealth. He is based at our Colchester clinic and has committed to undertake one of the most challenging endurance triathlons in the world to raise money for the charity SCOPE.
SCOPE’s aim is to change society for the better enabling disabled people and their families to have the same opportunities as everyone else. They offer practical support from information services to education and everyday care. SCOPE believes that everything they do is about creating real and lasting positive change in individual lives and in the world around us. They believe that together we can create a better society.
The Ironman event consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run. It takes place on Sunday 20th July in Bolton, Lancashire. Scott’s preparation has already begun, joining and training with Stortford Tri triathlon club and by himself multiple times a week in each discipline following a customised training program.
A word from Scott, “Working as a chiropractor with team ChiroHealth we try to improve the quality of people’s lives who suffer with a number of different musculoskeletal conditions which are often very painful and debilitating. We share a similar ethos to that of SCOPE which makes me more than happy to take part for such a good cause. The rest of the staff think I’m bonkers but I love challenges and none come much bigger than Ironman. I’m already training hard and will be increasing the mileage in each discipline across the winter ready for post-Christmas training and partaking in shorter distance triathlon events in the buildup to race day. I am very determined to complete the event, ideally if I can in a sub 12 hour time”.
Scott is trying to raise £1000 for SCOPE over the next 12 months in order to take part in this event. If you would like to see how his training is going check out his blog:
