What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a regulated health profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal conditions. This includes joint, muscle, ligament, tendon and nerve problems.  Although chiropractors are well known for treating spinal problems such as back and neck pain, we regularly treat other body parts such as shoulders, knees, ankle elbows etc.

Chiropractic, as practised in the UK, is not a treatment but a statutorily-regulated healthcare profession. Chiropractors offer a wide range of interventions including, but not limited to, manual therapy (soft-tissue techniques, mobilisation and spinal manipulation), exercise rehabilitation and self-management advice and utilise psychologically-informed programmes of care.

Our chiropractors are also trained in medical acupuncture, ultrasound therapy and shockwave therapy Chiropractic, like other healthcare professions, is informed by the evidence base and develops accordingly.

We always discuss your options for care with you and take into account your preferences when formulating a treatment plan.

Numerous studies throughout the world have shown that treatments provided by chiropractors including manipulative therapy is both safe and effective.
