The days are getting shorter, Jack Frost has made his first appearance for the cold season and rain is on its way. But for some, things are a little brighter, and a lot warmer!
One of our clinical directors, Dr Mark Gurden, who practices at both our, Braintree and Lexdon clinic in Colchester, is sunning it up on the other side of the Commonwealth, in Australia!
Alright for some hey! And just to rub it in a little, Mark and his wife are enjoying a steady 25-30 degrees with shorts, cotton shirts, and sunnies for the guys and summer dresses and hats for the girls. Nice one mate!
So why the journey down under? Two reasons! Not only was it time for a holiday but, Dr Mark is attending the 17th World Federation of Chiropractic Congress.
Taking place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Mark is not just attending, he’s been asked to speak and present on several subjects focusing on patient safety, something which all our clinics take great pride in, plus he’ll be discussing various element surrounding the modern-day quality of chiropractic care and practice standards.
Running from the 11th – 14th October, the Congress will take place over three fully packed days, taking Mark on a journey covering various facets associated with people-centred care.
These include equity, diversity and inclusivity, the patient experience, contextual factors, personalised packages of care, delivery of care across the life course, patient safety, communication, and social determinants of care.
It really is an exciting time for the Gurdens, for Mark as a professional, and a splendid accolade for both Mark and clinic in tandem.
Once the dust has settled on the Congress, the Gurdens plan on taking some time for some well-earned rest and one-on-one time, planning various trips and experiences while visiting the land down under.
The team is super excited and looks forward to hearing about Mark and his wife’s adventures and experiences upon their return in November.
